COA Highlights

The COA first Spring Clean Up for Seniors of Covington was a great success. Fifteen volunteers of our community helped seniors in our community spring clean their yards and gardens. Pictured above are some our our hard working COA volunteers, including one group with three generations.

The COA hosted it's Second Annual COA Sunday with Covington area churches, followed in the afternoon by our second annual concert held at Covington Church of the Brethren. The following groups provided entertainment for us that day: The Covington United Church of Christ Bell Choir, Lamp Post 4, "Friends with Strings Attached" Dulcimer Band, Covington United Church of Christ Puppet Team, The Focus Group, and well known local folk singer and entertainer "Joseph" Helfrich. Our MC was George Karyannis of the Newberry Theater. An intermission with punch and cookies was served by COA volunteers. The COA is deeply appreciative of your donations that raised $2,430.00 and 117 canned food items for our community food pantry.

A special thank you to Mayor Yingst, Darlene Gregg, Heidi Bailey (Covington Care Center), COA Volunteers, The Focus Group, and to our Covington Seniors for taking part in one of our Senior Outings held at Covington Village Hall.
