Our village is blessed to have the Covington Outreach Association as an emergency source of food to Covington residents. The need for our services is ever present, and many families rely on us to help with groceries when they run short of funds.

 

Beginning in 2021, our food pantry program allows a family to select their own groceries themselves at the Meijer store in Troy. We schedule COA volunteers to meet folks at the store where they can shop for their own non-taxable food items up to a preset amount, then a volunteer will pay for the groceries at check out with our gift card rewards we earned from the Meijer Simply Give Program.

Families are eligible for grocery assistance once per month (not to exceed 8 times per year) based on the same income guidelines that are used to determine HEAP utility assistance.

Identification, proof of residency in Covington, proof of income and a short intake survey are required for participation.
